Arrived— Rotomabana, from Sydney. Passengers—Mr and Mrs Bolderetoue, Mr and Mrs Hill, Mr and Mrs Dean Pitt, Mr' and Mrs Kromheanier ; Mesdamea Prince, Jacob, Rigley and child, and Smith ; Misses Hill (3), Chapman (3), Rollen, Mulling, Amos, Doble, and Gil6Uan ; Major Murphy, Capt; Browning, Messrs Tugwell, Rollen, J. Gavan Duffy, Gillies, Wain, Harris, Williams, Corcoran, Chapman, A. Bridge, Kyndon, Kelly, Durant, Rogers, Perry, Bennett, Cramwell and grandson, Esam, Lawrie, Dunman, A. Reid, Williams, Leokio, Holdship, Wigar, Welley, M. W. Green, W. Walton, and 54 steerage. The Harbor Board have reduced the salary of the engineer from £600 to £500, and given him six months notice of termination of his engagement. The total , amount of salaries for the year, exclusive of free houses to pilots, boatmen, &c-, is £5.291. Two 6-inch flax ropes, 'each 1000 feet long, have just been manufactured by the Fibre Company, the longest rope ever made in the colony. The annual meeting of the Auckland Benevolent Society was held last evening. The statement of accounts shewed th»t £976 had been extended in relief of the poor.
