London, Dec 8. — News h is been received here of the loss of the steamer I'achard, near Holyhead, on the North Welsh c aafc. The crow, numbon- g 30 hands, wore drowned. The vessel was bound fiom Cork to Eotterdam.
THB FRENCH IN TOIsQUJN. Paris, Dec 7.— A despatch to hand from Tonqutu states that desultory fighting has occurred between the French forces and the Chinese troops. Tho French luve beon generally successful, aud tho Chinese are now retreating in cousequonce of the defeat inflicted upon them.
