HANDICAP HtTKDLKS, of 50 SOYS; If miles ; over 8 flights of hurdles, 3ft 4in in height ; top weight not to exceed 12 atone ; lowest, not undo; 9 stone 5 nomination, 1 soy ; acceptance, 2 soys. To start at 12 o'clock. 2. Hack Hurdles, of 10 soys ; once round and a distance ; post entry ; entrance, 1 eov ; weight, not under 9st ; open to all horses that have never won public money or been nominated for an advertised race fix month 3 previous to date of meeting (Hack Races excepted). To start at 12.30 o'clock. 3. Flying Handicap, of 50 soys; f-mile; top weight not to exceed 10 stone ; nomination, 1 soy ; acceptance, 2 soys. To start at 1 o'clock. 4. Maiden Plate, of 30 soys ; l£-miles ; weight for age ; entrance, 3 soys ; open to all horses that have never won public money prior to date of entry ; any horse entered for Maiden Plate winning an advertised race of the value of 25 soys between the time of entry and date of race % carry a penalty of 51bs. To start at 1.30 o'clock. 5. Hack Rack, of 5 soys ; 1 mile ; post entry; entrance, 1 soy; half entrance added ; open to all horses that have never won public money, or been nominated for an advertised race six months prior to date of meeting (Hack Races excepted). To start at 2 o'clock. 6. Weverlky and Waitotara Handicap, of 170 soys ; l£-miles ; second horse to receive 20 soys out of stake? ; winner of any race of the value of 100 soys after declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 7 lbs ; top weight not to exceed 10 stone ; nomination, 3 soys ; acceptance, 5 soys. To start at 3 o'clock. 7. Hack Race, of 6 soys ; i-mile ; conditions same as previous Hack Race. To start at 3.30 o'clock. 8. Forced Handicap, of 20 sovsj once round the course ; entrance, winning 1 horse, 1 soy ; losing horses, 10a. To 1 start at 4 o'clock. Nominations for the Hurdle, Flying, and Waverley and Waitotara Handicaps, will be received, addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Waverley, up till Tuesday, 17th February, 1885, at 8 p.m. Weights declared on Friday, 27th February, 1885. Acceptances and General Entries close on Wednesday, 4th March, 1885, at 8 p.m. RULE 3. 1, No entry will be received for any race except upon this condition : That ail disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the programme shall be final. 2.- All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Waverley, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at the time of entry, pedigre , and, in case of Handicaps, performances of the horse, name of owner, and colors of the rider, 3. Any jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined 2 soys.

4< When two or more horaes start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing color must be worn. 5. All races to be run under the W, J.C, rules. 6. Horses walking over will only receive half the stake. 7. No qualification fee, 8. In all races the second horse only saves his stakes where it is specially mentioned. NEW RULES. 9.
