Adelaide, March 15. — The cricket match, Australian eleven v. fifteen of South Australia, was resumed here to-day, when;the Australians continued their second innings, which closed for a total of 268. The following are the scores ■. — Bannerman, c, 35 ; McDonnell, c, 22 ; Murdoch, b, 0 ; Giffen, b, 36; Midwinter, c, 25; Blackham, b, .14; Alexander, c, 69; Scott, not out, 38; Cooper, c, 3 ; Boyle, 68 ; extras, 7. The ! Home team iv their seconds innings Iput together a total of 189. The Australians then commenced their second innings, and when play was stopped, they had scored 112 without losing any wickets, Bannerman 34, and Bonnor 73 being both not out. Extras, 5 ; total, 112. The match .was drawn, and the Australians subsequently sailed for England by the steamer Sutler SHIPPING. ! Sydney, Maroh 15. — Arrived, this morning — P.M.S. City of Sydney, from San Francisco, via Auckland. ' HANLAN IN SYDNEY. Hanlan was accorded an enthusiastic reception on his arrival by the mail steamer, by which he was a passenger. As yet he has not airanged for any matches with Australian oarsmen, and intends to give rowing exhibitions throughout Australia. Hanlan will visit New Zealand on his return,, and will give similar exhibitions ' at various places. . i Received March 17, 1 p.m. DESTRUCTIVE FIRE. ! March 17. — A destructive fire- occurred last night at Borthwick's oil warehouse, George Street. Insurances on the property amount to £16,000. NARROW ESCAPE OF A BOAT'S CREW. A boat containing passengers from ' the steamship City of Sydney yesterday was cut in two by the steamer Emu. The occupants of the boat bad a miraculous escape.
