FROZEN MEAT.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — As I know the frozen meat trade concerns every one in New Zealand, aud as many believe that the people at home are petting tired of it, I enclose an extract from a letter I received to-day from an agricultural town not two hours run from London, where they had only received the first New Zealand meat last month. The prices are given, also their opinion of our frozen mutton, and this letter leads me to believe that eighttenths of the people in England have never heard of New Zealand mutton yet: — I am, &c, J. Doole. Denlair, March 13, 1884.

The follrwing is an extract from the letter : — Ipswich, Jan 30, 1884. — Since writing your letter we have tasted some of the New Zealand mutton. One of the Ipswich butchers has taken up the sale at the following retail prices :— rLegs, 9£d per lb ; loin, 9d ; neck, 9d ; kneats, 6d and 6^d per lb. I find the London agents are advertising it in our papers offering to supply one carcase free, London price to be given upon application. We like it ; I find it equal in flavor to our own, and of course it is very tender. We also think the bones in your sheep are much smaller than ours, and we hope there will be a good supply, as it will make it better for all.
