BARNS & HIGGIE'S STOCK SALE

REPORT.

At our sale on the 12th instant there was a good attendance, and a large quantity of stock came forward. We are sorry to note that the market is very dull, and prices generally have declined somewhat, buyers being very shy of making offers. We bucceeded in placing about 130 hend of cattle and 11C0 sheep, but at figures decidedly in favour of buyers. Cattle — Fat cows and heifers brought from £3 7s 6d to £5 3s ; 3^-year bullocks in forward condition, £5 ."s; weaners and poor quality yearlings, 20s to 21s. Sheep— Fat wethers, 9s 3d to 11s 6d ; fat ewes, 9s ; ewe hoggets. 6s 2d ; wether hoggets, 6s 3d. Horses.— Little or no business done ; no demand.
