Mr Justice Gillies to-day refused to grant a discharge in bankruptcy to an applicant in whose estate there are no assets. His Honor pointed out that the object of the Act was to distribute the estate amongst the creditors, and not to release debtors.
Mr Peach, on whose ground was situated a portion of the rifle range used at the late meeting of the Rifle Association, is said to have taken proceedings to recover damages to his land. He claims £100.
At the annual meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society, held to-day, the report showed a net income for the year of £562. The game licenses realised £516. The expenditure was £586. There has been no introduction of birds since last meeting. Sailed — Ringarooma, for Sydney.
