THE WAR IN THE SOUDAN.
Cairo, Dec 12. — Latest despatches to hand from Soudan state that the Egyptian garrison at Duem and Shat (sic) are being massed at Khartoun, in view of an attack which is expected to be made upon the town by the Arab rebels. It is also stated that El Mahdi is sending a force of 10,000 men into he Darfour district. Received Dec 14, 12.20 a.m. Baker Pasha is now engaged organising an expedition against the Soudan rebels. His force will be composed of Egyptian gensdarme, negro troops, and a contingent of & i*abs.
