♦— -~ WANGANUI RIFLES. The first class fired the 6th competition for the company's trophies . this morning, when the following scores were made :—

CITY BIFLES. The Second Class of the City Rifles fired yesterday morning, when the following scores were made : —

The usual monthly inspection was . neia last evening, Capt Hutchison being in command. The men were put through skirmishing drill and various other movements, and acquitted themselves creditably. It was de. cided to hold a daylight parade on Saturday next at 3.30, and a muster for the inapeotion of arms on the- 16th. At the latter fcvery member of the Company must be present, or send in his arms for inspection. The First Class fire for the officera'>rophy to-morrow morning, All those members who havo not fired the third stage of class-firing are requested to attend at the range on Thursday morning next.
