November 3. The Auckland Trades and Labor Council intend issuing a monthly summary of the condition of trades and labor to kindred bodie3 in the other chief centres of New Zealand and Australian colonies; also, to leading industrial papers in Great Britain. Mr Mitchelson goes north to the Whangarei Agricultural Show. He returns to Auckland and leaves for the South in ten days, and will go on to Christchurch to be sworn in by the Governor. Nov 5. An Auckland lawyer -who had £400 (?) to £800 about Martini-Henri winning the Derby went to the bookmakers and offered £20 to cry the wager off. They refused, and doubtless now regret. Mr O'Sullivan, inspector, was thrown from his buggy on Saturday, and sererely shaken and cut.
