For Wellington— Huia, Saturday, at 11 30 p.m. The Huia arrived from Wellington this morning. She 10 turns to-night at 11.30 o'clock. The New Zealand Shipping Company have received a cablegram dattd London, October 31st, stating that the Tongariro left Plymouth at midnight on October 25 Hi for Fort Chalmers and Lyttelton. The Doric, on her homeward passage, arrived at Rio on October 28th, after the quickest passage yet mide to that port by one of the direct steamers. H-r refrigerators were working satisfactorily, and her frozen meat was in excellent condition. The Union Steamship Company are making some alterations in their new pxpress boat Tukapuna before placing her in the coastal trade. The hurricane-deck was, we understand, found to be too much lumbered up v^ith boats, &c, and is being cleared so far as possible to afford a perfect promenade for passengers. The Takapuna is expected to begin running next month. — Post. In the absence of advice, all cargo arriving will be discharged at the new woolshed, and it is afterwards desired by shippers to divert to steam rs, an expense of 2s per bale on wool, skins, and EUx.and 81 per ton on other cargo will be incurred on their account. — E.
