Received Feb 2, 1 a.m. Ppris, Jan 31. — General Campenon, who was offered the portfolio of War in the new Ministry, declined to take office, and the vacant seat in the Cabinet has now been allotted to General Thibaudin, whose appoint- < menfe as Minister of War was expected at the time of the late political crisis.. The Marquis de R»y has been arrested in this city on charges of fraud and deception ; in connection with the New Ireland colonisation expeditions, and has been committed for trial. « ' J " ; London, F6b I.— The Hon W. E. Gjlaastone returns from Cannes on the 10th inst. His health has much improved during the time- he has been absent from England. (SPECTAL TO UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Received Jan 3 1st, 10.45 a.m. London, Jan 30. — Mr Bradlaugh expects that 150,000 persons will assemble in London to support his claims to his seat at the opening of Parliament.
