THE BOARD OF HEALTH AND THE HERO'S PASSENGERS.

(per united press association.) Auckland, July 9. The quarantine officer yesterday refused to recognise the recommendation of the Local Board of Health for releasing the Hero's passengers and telegraphed to the Government for instructions. The latter instructed him to release them, and though the Board of Health was sitting he made no communication to them, but proceeded to order their release himself. On hearing this the Board immediately resigned.
