NELSON,
Oct 11. Haskayne Jones, who has been connected with the Bank of New South Wales a quarter of a century, died somewhat suddenly this morning. Although he had been ailing for some time, he appeared in better health lately. At the District Court to-day, an action was brought against Lowe, second pilpt, by Hamilton and Sons, for injuries sustained by the latter, the boy having been most severely scalded, as alleged, through defendant turning on steam into a waste pipe on board a steamer lying alongside the wharf at the time. A legal point was raised that the father and son were improperly joined in action, and thereupon plaintiffs were non-r suited.
