The Clyde towed out the Hannah Broomfield last night, and brought up to the wharf the schooner T. B. Taylor. The Rangatira left Wellington yesterday at 6 p.m., and arrived off the bar at 9.30 this morning ; orossed, and arrived at the wharf at 10.15. Experienced strong N.W; wind and heavy sea. She brings 82 passengers. The steamer Go- Ahead left on what might be called her maiden trip (as she is almost a new boat, very little] of the old remaining) to the East Coast on Friday, and, as will be seen by the telegram, has realised all expectations in regard to speed, 9J knots being averaged on the run to Napier via Castlepoint.—N.Z, Times.

The following information has been forwarded for publication by the Secretary of the Marine Department : — The Harbor Master at Westporfc reports that the bar channel has gone more to the south westward ; that beacons are placed on the town side for entering the river, beaming about south east magnetic, and carrying red flags by day and red lights during the night at tide time to mark the channel. The N.Z.S. Oo.'s chartered ship Maravel, with over 300 passengers on board, arrived on t Friday at 10 a.m. after a smart passage of 82 days from Gravesend. She is a fine iron clipper ot 1237 tons register, and is specially adapted for carrying a large number of passengers, her accommodation, as far as space, light, and ventilation is concerned, being equal to any vessel which has visited this port. The ship is under the command of Captain Ramsay, with Messrs. Boon and Sane,first and second officers,are strangers to Wellington, she having previously been trading to the sister colonies, and latterly Canterbury. — N.Z, Times.
