• Wednesday, May 7. The sales during the fortnight presented a good supply of stock. Cattle maintain their prices, but in sheep there is no improvement to report. Store ewes are hardly saleable at the quotations given, but fat sheep meet a lair market at boiling down prices, I think the. farmers make a great mistake in not eecuring store sheep, as the present prioeß cannot remain, with the prospect of a plentiful snpply of grass for the whiter, and a not over supply of fat sheep, Store bullocks are in demand, and not very abundant. All that were offered have made good prices, with a brisk market. • . At Waverley, the bidding for oattle of all sorts was exceedingly good, and a oapital sale was effected. At the sale yards to-day, the beef was of inferior quality, and made about 20s the lOOlbs. Store cattle, also was not of first class quality, but were all sold at the quo* tations below. Sheep at Waverley were not &U sold, the lambs having to be turned ont. At St Hill Street, about 600 stores had to be passed in also. Cattle— 23o head were sold. Cows and calves, £7 and £7 10s ; heifers, £5 2s 6d and £5 "6s; steera, £4 15s: fat bullocks, £9 2s 6d } yearlings, -63 and £4. At the yards today, 164 head came forward. Eat bullocks, £7 5s to £8 10s, one pen £9 ss ; cows, £4 15s and £6 ; yearlings, £2 15s aud £3 10s ; calves, £1 15s.

Sheep — At Waverley, 1344 were penned, Fat wethers, 8s €d ; ewes, 7s 6d : breeding ewes, 4s ; lambs, 3s 6d, At Sfc Hill Street, 1382 were offered. Wethers, 7s to 8s ; ewes, 3s 6a;

Pigs— A good supply came forward. Be9t iat pigs, £2 155 ; medium sized, 30s to 37s Cd ; stores, 13s to 14s each.

Hoesbs— Unbroken draughts, £31 and £38]; hacks, £8 to £12 ; superior hacks, tip to £25; weeds and screws, £3 and £5, Expobtb—so head cattle, 630 sheep, (retjteb.)
