WANGANUI- WAITOTARA HIGHWAY BOARD.
The first meeting of the Wardens appointed by the Governor, together with Mr Dymoek, who had retained his position, was held at the Butland Chambers on Wednesday. Present — Messrs D. Peat, Dymoek, Stent, Hogg, and Murchison.
On the motion of Mr Peat, Mr Dymoek was elected Chairman of the Board.
Resolved — That Mr Geo. Hutohison be appointed solicitor. — That Mr Ed. N. Liffiton be appointed to appear at the Assessment Court, in support of his valuation. — That Mr J. J. Crawford be appointed clerk and Treasurer at the same salary as paid to Mr Eetley. Letters from several ratepayers in No. 1 Ward, asking for repairs to the Ornakainga Koad, were, held over till next meeting.
From Mr Imlay, in reference to the road to his property was also' held over. Ee solved— rThat Messrs Dymoek and Peat be a committee, to wait on the Manager of the Bank of New Zealand, relative to the Board's account. .
Resolved — That the ordinary meetings of tlie Board be held on the first Monday of each month.
