GEO. A. HURLEY'S WEEKLY GRAIN AND MIODUCE MART. Wanganui, August 29, 1878. There ia not much alteration in the ' prices of grain to note, although the market, is far as oats are concerned, evinces greater .vjtivity. Several large lines of oats have been taken up during the week by local dealers who look forward expecting higher prices. I hear of one or two parcels of milling wheat having been taken up ab 5s at the Marton station ; but with this exception there has been nothing to note in wheat. The few days of fine weather we have had will be an inducement to many to sow the balance ot their oats. I quote (wholesale prices) :—: — Oats.— « Feed, 6s to 5s Id ; seed, 5s 6d. Wheat. — Seed, 6s to 7s 6d. Barley . — Nominal . Maize — 4s Gd. .Beans. — 6s 9d ; Peas, 5d 6d, (a small line of peas fetched 25s a bag at Auction.) Flour.— £l3 to £13 10s. Oatmeal— £23.
