PASSENGER LIST. .Per Stormbird —inwards —Mrs Young and 2 children, Mr and Mrs Clinton, Misseß Nye and Stoneham, Mrs Armstrong, Messrs Lichfleld, Lomaz, Young, Poole, Howe, Peele Knorpp, Herbert, Exley, Murphy, Andrews, Leo, nnd Gurk. Per Murray, Mesdames Nicholson senr, Nicholson jnr, Harford and 10 children, Messrs Nicholson (2), White, Pearson, Harvey, Coiling, Harford, Chudbury and 1 in Steerage. Per Manawatu —outwards —Mr Dowaon, lire Elley and 2 children. The St. Kilda, with a cargo of live stock for Lyttelton, is anchored under tbe Bluff, *nd likely to remain there until the north channel beootncß deeper. The pilot lent word to Capt. Flowerday this morning that H would be Bieless to attempt the outward passage. The s s Murray, left Nelson at B.SO p.m. > yesterday, and experienced strong westerly * winds and heavy sea acroaa the Straits. Arrived off the bar about 11 o'clock this morning; crossed at noon and made fast to the Corporation wharf at 12.30. The Murray brings fall general cargo, 8 horses and 24 pMsengers. She will leave to«moarow for Nelion and New Plymouth. The Stormbird left Wellington ot 6.30 o'clock last evening and experienced light 8.8. winds and smooth sea throughout the passage. Arrived off the bar at 9,550, crossed at noon, and made fast to tbe commercial wharf at 12.30. She brings 70 tons of cargo and 26 passengers. She will leave for Wellington to-night. Captain Doile informs us that the main channel entrance to our river is completely blocked up, and that the north channeljis the only available entrance. On Sunday morning' there was 10ft of water in this channel, and this morning in crossing at a hour before high water, there was ascertained to be only 7ft depth. The Stormbird dragged heavily In coming through. The s.s. Wallabi with a cargo of live stook sailed this forenoon for Greymouth taking advantage of the light South-Easterly breeze which will afford her a quick passage to her destination. The Wallabi may be expected back about Sunday, and if the present fine weather should continue she will make another trip to the South before going to Auckland, , ,
