ME. GLADSTONE'S MOTION REJECTED.
Loxdost, May 17. Bir Stafford Xortlicotc, in the House, said that although lUis^ia might blockade and even invade Egypt, the policy of the Government was strict neutrality ; there was no reason "why England should fight when the road to India was untouched. JMr Gladstone's motion was rejected by 854 to 233. Wolfe's amendment declaring that the House declines to entertain any resolution hampering 1 the Government, without indicating alternative policy wad carried without a division.
