Wellington, Feb. 4. The General Assembly Library Committee decided to-day to call for tenders for the erection of a fire proof building at the rear of the Legislative Council Chamber for a library. Arrived — Ship Commonwealth, from London, 97 days out. She brings 40 passengers, all well. An attempt ia being made to form a Theatre Company, and to erect a new. one at the Te Aro end of the town. Buckland reports — Fat cattle, 26s to 32s Gd per lOOlbs ; inferior were 2s 6d lower than last week ; sheep unusually plentiful, ewes, 2s 5d each lower ; wethers, at previous values ; broadstuffs and produce market dull and unchanged.
