To stgrt at 2 o'clock. 4th — Cavalry Race — For all horses owned and ridden for three months previous to this meeting, by members of any Cavalry Troop between Manawatu and Hawera ; open to any corps which subscribe £3 3s to the Jockey Club Fund. Second horse to receive 10 per cent., and third horse 6 per cent ont of the stakes. Entrance, one guinea, and Cavalry subscription added. Weights 12 stone. To start at 4 p.m. RULES. 1. The Wanganui J ockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. 2. All disputes to be settled by the Stewards, whese decision will be final. 3. Persons lodging a protest will place £1 in the hands of the Secretary on making the same, which money will be torfeited if such protest be deemed by the Stewards frivolous or unjust. 4. Nominations for the Wanganni Jockey Club Handicap, addressed to the Secretary, must be made on or before 9 p.m. on Thursday, 3rd February. Weights to be declared on the 10th February. Acceptances, addressed to the Secretary, Commercial Hotel, Wanganui, will be received up to MONDAY, 28th February, at 9 p.m. WANGANUI DERBY OF 1877-78.
