Hurdle Race'—Muscatel, Tommy Dodd, Speculation, and Pakeha. Nov. 8.The Governor landed at Lyttelton shortly after feu o'clock, and was received by the Superintendent and the members of the Executive. The artillery fired a salute, but the heavy rain prevented any further demonstration. The Governor came through to Cbristchureh at once, arriving- at about 11.15. The City Guards formed a guard of honor, and the Cavalry escorted the Governor who was driven away in Sir Oracroft Wilson's carriage to the '^lub, where he will reside duriiio- his visit.
