RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Monday, Sept. 11th, 1871. (Before Major Edwards, R. M.) DH.UNICEN'NHSS. John Seymour forfeited his bail of £1. assault. John Mitchell was charged with assaulting. John Hugh Murray. The assault consisted in the accused threatening to strike tin prosecutor with an axe. Witnesses were called, bearing out the statement of the prosecutor, vis the charge was not pressed, the accused was ! nned 2Os, and bound over to keep the peace, himself in £5 and two sureties of £5 each. BE-IN-STATBMEXT. Mr Cooper applied for the re-instatenient of the case of Win. Bsndle v. llv. McNeill The case had been settled in defendant's absence, the letter applying f Ol . an adjournment not having been delivered. Mr Duncan on behalf of plaintiff applied for expenses. The R. M. stated that the question of expanses would bo gone into with the new trial. The case re-instated to come on for adjudication at 11 a.m. on Thursday next ' 11. B. .Roberts v. P. Mahonev." Claim— £11 3s Bd. ' Mr Cooper for defendant. Adjourned till to-morrow. Alex. Cameron v. Henry Serjeant Claim—£lo 10* oei ooant.0oant. Judgment for plaintiff with cost £2 16s -ncludiug professional fee of £1 Is. ;
