TO BRIDGE CONTRACTORS. MAIN ROAD FROM WANGANUI TO TARANAKI. TENDERS will be received at this Office or at the Survey Office, Patea, until noon of Saturday, the 18th March next, for the followingworks, viz.:—■ No 1 Contract. — The construction of a Bridge over the Manawapou River. No. 2 Contract. — The construction of a Bridge over the Tangahoe River. No. 3 Contract. — The construe tion of a Bridge over the Waingongora River. The timber to be used will be Totara. or Matai, abundance of the latter can be obtained by the contrac tor free of cost, but he will have to cut and and cart it to the bridge sites; that for Manawapou about half a mile from bridge site, and for the Tangahoe and Waingongoro about four miles inland of Hawera. No difficulty about carting, the track being good. Plans and specifications can be seen at this Office and at the Survey Office, Patea, on and after Saturday, the eleventh day of March next. -Persons tendering for these works must state in the tender the time within which they will undertake to complete the works and the description of timber to be used, and must sign a bond with approved sureties for the due completion of the work. It must be distinctly understood that preference will be given to the tender which requires the least time to complete the work. ' Power is reserved to reject the lowest or any tender. 0.
