The Criminal Sittings of the Supreme Court were opened on the Ist inst.
George Gray was indicted with stealing- a horse from Taituha Tuhana The prisoner was found guilty, and sentenced to two years imprisonment with hard labor.
Thos. Telyard was charged with obtaining- the sum of 3s 6d from John Tuck, of Masterton, by means of a cheque on the Bank of New Zealand for £7 10s, which turned out to be valueless. The prisoner was found guilty, and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with hard labor.
