Useful of the Devil.—The Devil, says Mr W. Verner, is supported by voluntary contribution—(laughter) and a large class of her Majesty's subjects in Ireland—the administrators of the laAv and the landlords— are supposed by many to be under his especial keeping (Laughter). As an instance of this feeling, a farmer in my country, after the prosecution of an unsuccessful suit, informed the sub-sheriff that if the devil did not take his landlord it Avas no use to have a devil at all (laughter)..
