RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
YESTERDAY. (Before Walter Buller, E?q., R.M.) CIVIL CASES. James Hamilton v. IT. A. Moore. Claim £35. Mr Roberts appeared for plaintiff. | James Hamilton said : In November he'sold defendant a wacrgon for £3/5; got.a bill for £22, which was dishonored', and was to receive an express waggon for the balance,,£l3, which had never been delivered. Judgment by default for amount and costs. ; ■ James Pouthcombe v. John Woods. Mr Hodge appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Roberts for defendant. 'l'he plaintiff claimed a horse, which defendant looted at Manutahi, and brought into Patea ; the horse was seen in possession; of the defendant, when the plaintiff was on Colonel Lyon's cavalry expedition. The evidence not being sufficient to j dispossess the defendant of the horse, tbe plaintiff was non-suited.
