THE Telegraph Commissioner is prepared to receive tenders for the supply and delivery of' Two Thousand Five Hundred (2500) Poles (more or less), for a line of Telegraph to be constructed between Wang-anui and the City of Wellington. The poles to be sawn from the heart of Totara, and to be twenty (20) feet long, eiglit (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. The poles to be sound, straight, and free from sap. • N.B. —No poles will be accepted that contain the least sap or other defect, such as being specified. The poles are to be delivered at points and distances hereinafter to be indicated, along the coach road between Wellington and Wanganui. Tenders to specify the price per pole. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of twenty-five pounds i (£25) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any tenderer refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two (2) sureties for approval, who are willing* to become bond-; for the due performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification ,to that effect signed by the proposed sureties. - Further information can be ob tamed al the Telegraph Office, Wellington.
