MILITTA REGULATIONS FOR the Pay and Equipment of the New Zealand Militia when called out for Service, or embodied for Actual Duty. - 1. The pay of Privates when on actual duty, within their own districts will be two shillings and sixpence (2s 6d) a day and rations, or ■ i-our snillings (&s a.day if ifn6y are required to provide their own provisions. Under no circumstances will rations of runvjbe issued. 2. Clothing and blankets will not be supplied, but in lieu thereof every man will be allowed six shillings (6s) for each month or portion of a month (being not less than two weeks) during which he may be required to serve. 3. If rations are supplied to the wives and families of the men, the cost of the same will be charged against the pay of the husband or father. 4. In districts where arms, and ammunition are placed in the hands of the Militiamen for their own defence, they will be required to attend drills in the neighbourhood of their own homes, and to parade quarterly for inspection without any pay. In • rural districts, if required to attend a single drill once or twice a month, they will receive one shilling and sixpence (Is 6d) for each attendance of not less than one hour and a half. . The Officers will not receive pay for attendance at these parades, and will , further be required to attend a regular ; course of instruction. 5. If called out for training for any number of consecutive dayi, the Officers and.
