CORRESPONDENCE.

[to the editok op the evening herald.]

Sir—i-With reference to the case of Robinson v. Owen, a report tof which appeared in your last night's issue* in which his worship ruled that I am not personally responsible for the debfs due by the Garrick Club, but that T might be sued in my official capacity as Stage Manager, and judgment given on whatever property the Club possessed. I beg to state publicly that it is roy earnest and heartfelt desire to do all that lies in my power towards the proper distribution of the wardrobe, for the desirable purpose of giving an equivalent for the sums due. I be<j therefore to send you a pair of Scarlet Breeks as a fair specimen of the Garrick Club's valuable wardrobe, and as earnest of further contributions. Should you prefer any other article of apparel, such as a chintz waistcoat, or a scarlet wig-, please apply early, as the distribution is going on. Yours obediently, J. W. Robinson. Late Stage Manager Wanganui Garrick Club. [We are obliged to Mr. Robinson for the prompt manner in which he has come forward to liquidate the debts of the Garrick Club, in accordance<with directions received from the R. M.; but would remind him that fortunately for ourselves, we are not as stdge struck as he and others have been and are, and request that he will send for his first instalment of ihe dividend, they being utterly useless to us.]
