PENSIONS TO MIDSHIPMEN'S WIDOWS,

Lord Henry Benedick—With respect to the question which has been asked by the hon. "person" the member for Portsmouth, I may state th»t the subject of increased pensions to midshipmen's widows has received the must serious consideration of myself and my colleagues. (Cries of "Dear, dsar.") Under these circumstances there is perhaps no " person" in the House from whom such a question could emanate with greater weight, or who could command so full a measure for our sympathy. Lord Henry Benedick-rr-I withdraw the word " proposed," and yet I roust remind the hon. " person" that it was only yesterday, in the tearooro, when we were boih accidentally shut out from the division, that the cries of " Question, question," and " Pop the question I' — —
