PROSPECTING.
Steps are about being taken to have the country lying between the Buiier, Ngakawhan, aua the Mokihinui rivers prospected. It is the intention to canvass the town for subscriptions, form a Prospecting Committee, under whose care the fnnds will be disbursed, and send as many men out as is thought desirable. There is a large extent of ground to be prospected, and it is known that alluvial ground exists, but whether gold in paying quantities or not has to be proved. It was from the same locality that the big nugget was found, and several others of smaller size, Those that know the country, have great confidence in the result of a thorough prospecting. We understand that a subscription list will be handed round to day, and it is hoped that none will be backward in subscribing as much as means will permit.
