To-morrow is the day of polling for the election of two members in the Provincial Council for the Buller District. Eor the information of miners, who on this occasion are in the majority as electors, it may be well to notice thus prominently that, according to the Rules and Regulations, their claims are protected on the occasion. It is to be regretted that the authorities have not consulted the convenience of miners in other respects by the appointment of more polling places on the Northern Terraces or even at the Lyell. If wet weather prevail, the population of the Northern Terraces may be said to be in some degree disfranchised. In the interests of all the candidates, and of the district, it is to be hoped that, neither there nor at Addison's Flat, will there be any physical difficulties in the way of a large muster being made at all the polling booths. In point of " politics," as the things with which they have to deal are by courtesy called, it is almost immaterial which of the candidates are returned, but whomsoever they may favor, it i« to be hoped that the electors will not do so tacitly, but will actively " roll up."
