U.S.A. PRESIDENCY
LINDBERGH AS CANDIDATE. ' REPUBLICAN MOVE. ' CHICAGO, Thursday. A movement is on foot to nominate Colonel Lindbergh for the Republican candidacy for President in 1940. A group of Middle West Republican leaders emphasise that not only is lie a public idol whose popularity has been singularly undiminislied with the passage of years, but that his recent advancement “as a serious-minded business man puts the finishing touches on him as a candidate.” They insist that probably only he would be able to win the next election against the Democrats.
