IN FULL BLAST
STATE PARTY MACHINE. SOVIET ELECTIONS. LONDON, Thursday. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Moscow correspondent says oratory is becoming more fervid as polling day on 12th December approaches. The entire State party machine is working at full blast. All citizens are expected to attend electoral meetings, which always deve* lop into pro-Stalin demonstrations. About 100,000 “agitational centres” are teaching electors their rights and duties. Young members of the Communist League in Moscow are canvassing every room in every crowded tenement. It is hard work drumming such things into the heads of people who have never polled before, and 1,000,000 persons have been mobilised to undertake propaganda throughout the Soviet.
