FATAL ACCIDENT
MAN BURIED BY FALL OF EARTH. GISBORNE, Thursday. A fatal accident occurred on the East Coast railway works to-day. Herbert Good, aged 26, married, with three children, was caught in a fall of earth. Good was employed at Earl’s camp, and was working on the face of a cutting when the earth subsided. He ran into the cutting, but was overwhelmed.Forty men, working in relays, recovered the body after three hours. A companion, who was endangered by the landslide, escaped by diving into a heading which had been driven in the cutting.—(P.A.)
