OBITUARY

MR THOMAS INGLEY. The death occurred last evening of Mr. Thomas Ingley, a well-known and highly popular resident of the Wairarapa, in which district he had lived all his life. The late Mr. Ingley, who was 75 years of age, had suffered somewhat impaired health for the past few weeks, ffiougn he was \Out and about until tie last day or two. He was born at Greytown in 1862, the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs Thomas Ingley, very old Wairarapa identities. For many years he conducted a butchery business in Greytown and later engaged in farming at Morison’s Bush, retiring in 1923, when he took up his residence at Te Ore Ore. He was one of the original members of the Greytown Working Men’s Club and was instrumental in restoring the Morison’s Bush Hall. Mr. Ingley took a keen interest in sport of all kinds and in this direction was always ready to give his assistance to those requiring it. He was a prominent racing enthusiast, at one time being the owner of several wellknown racehorses, while for many years he was a steward of the Wairarapa Racing Club. Mr. Ingley was a member of long standing of the Greytown Masonic Lodge, having joined the fraternity in 1886. Upon coming to Masterton he became a member and committeeman of the Soldiers’ Club.

The late Mr. Ingley is survived by six sons and two daughters, his wife (nee Miss Catherine Cross, whom he married in 1892) having predeceased him four years ago. The members of the family are: Mrs Clarence Percy and Miss Nita Ingley and Messrs Roy, Donald, Colin, Gordon, Ivan and Kenneth Ingley, to all of whom the sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended in their great loss. The funeral will take place to-mor-row, leaving the residence at 1.30 p.m. for the Greytown Cemetery. MR. I. RADOJKOVICH. Mr. Ivan Radojkovich died at the Masterton Hospital yesterday at the age of 55 years. He had been a patient in the hospital for several months past and was a native of Yugoslavia, coming to New Zealand in 1903. He was a cabinetmaker by occupation and worked in various parts of the Dominion. Subsequently he returned to his native land but came back to New Zealand 24 years ago, since when he had resided for a period at Wairoa and latterly at Masterton. He was of a very industrious disposition and is survived by a widow and family of three daughters and three sons, all of whom, except one son living in Masterton, reside in Podgora, Dalmatia. The funeral will take place to-mor-row morning, leaving Mr. G. Hyde’s Chapel at 10.30 o’clock for the Masterton Cemetery.
