WELLINGTON SALE. PROSPECTS FOR TO-MORROW. WELLINGTON, Monday. Latest London advices suggest that the market for fine wools is better than for crossbreds, in which New Zealand specialises. The Bank of New South Wales has received to-day advices from its London office, dated December 4, as follows: — Wool: During past week prices for Merinos have tended in sellers’ favour, but crossbreds generally are unchanged. Wellington sales, the first of the 1937-38 season will begin at 9 a.m. at the Town Hall on Wednesday. The quantity allotted by the New Zealand wool committee for this sale was 30,000 bales, but the offering will be 20,500, the following being the catalogues in order of sale:— Bales. Farmers’ Distributing Co Wairarapa Farmers’ 402 Abraham and Williams and Wright, Stephenson 3,10 S Dalgety and Co 3,452 Murray, Roberts 2,57 S Levin and Co 5,531 N.Z. Loan and Mercantile 2,135 20,500 These figures are subject to alteration. Buyers will be busy all day today and to-morrow at the various local stores inspecting and valuing wools for which they have orders to fill.
