N.Z. SKI TEAM

EVENTS AT MT. KOSCIUSKO. SYDNEY, Tuesday. The New Zealand ski team reached Mount Kosciusko to-day. They expect to run non-competitive in the interstate langlauf, probably to-morrow. The interstate downhill race was held this morning, in a bitter wind and on hard snow. The descent was 1100 feet over If miles. Non-competitive entries were allowed in addition to the men’s and women’s teams.

Among the non-competitive entrants, Miss Diana Allen ran fourth, in 5 minutes 5 seconds, thus strengthening her claim for consideration by the New Zealand selectors after her excellent performance in the interstate slalom yesterday, when New Solith Wales defeated Victoria. The course was not steep or difficult, but owing to the winds and snow, stamina and speed were required.

Victoria won the men’s event with 100 per cent. New South Wales was second with 99.42 per cent. New South Wales won the women’s event with 100 per cent to Victoria’s 85.20 per cent. Individual results were as follows: —b. von Glaserfield (Czechoslovakia), 3min. 9sec., 1; J. Pattinson (New South Wales), 2; L. Blight (N.S.W.), 3; S. A. Kaston (N.S.W.), 4. Women. —Mrs K. Tinsley (N.S.W.), 4.374, 1; Miss M. Foley (N.S.W.), 2; Miss Wallace (Victoria), 3; Frau von Glaserfeld (Czechoslovakia), 4. The course was from Mount Townsend to Carruthers Peak.
