AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. FOURSOME COMPETITION. SYDNEY, Mondav. Several strong pairs took part to-day in the amateur foursome -championship ,of Australia, at the Kensington course, determined by medal play ovc* 36 holes. The event is the curtain-raiser to the open golf championship. The winnerse were two young Victorians, W. D. Wishart and W. Higgins, with an aggregate score of 152. Their opening round of 73 was a record for the new lay-out of the course. Their second round score was 79. J. Perrier and G. Thompson (New South Wales) and 11. Hattersley (New South Wales) and S. Keane (Queensland.) were runners-up, tieing with 153. The New Zealanders, C. Ward and I. Godby, who only arrived to-day, returned rounds of 87, 84, 171.
