Miss Patricia Nelson, who has been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs W. H. Nelsonp Woodville, has left on her return to Sydney. The death occurred in the Timaru Hospital on Wednesday night of Mrs Harriet Bray, wife of Mr John Bray, of Fairlie, and mother of Mrs W. Olsen, of Eketahuna, at the age of 66 years. At St. John’s Anglican Church, Napier, on Monday last the marriage took place of Miss Mary Louisa Heckler, fourth daughter of the late Mr and Mrs J. F. Heckler, Forest Downs, Mangamahoo, to Mr William Herbert Clieetliam, fifth son of the late Mr and Mrs W. T. Cheetham, of. Wrexham, England.

A complimentary luncheon was tendered yesterday to the Hon. W. E. Barnard, Speaker of the House of Representatives, by the Te Aroha Borough Council, of which he is an ex-eouncillor. The Mayor, Mr R. Coulter, M.P., presided. There was a large and representative district attendance.
