WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
UPPER PLAIN MEETING.. The April meeting of the Upper Plain Women's Institute was held recently, there being a good attendance of members. ' Mrs Powell gave a very interesting demonstration on glove-making. Competitions resulted as follows: — Gift, to cost not more than Is, Mrs Mannell; collection of biscuits, Mrs G. Wilson 1, Mrs W. Taplin 2. The roll call was “Favourite Character in Fiction.” Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Tanltersley and l Mrs- E. Taplin. The singing of'the National Anthem brought the meeting to a close.
