MASTERTON BRANCH. ANNUAL MEETING. Mr H. B. Massey presided at the annual meeting of the Masterton branch, of the British Music Society. The annual report and balance-sheet of the branch showed that last season had been a very successful one, both musically and financially. It was decided to hold group evenings on the last Monday in each month up to October, as w r ell as the usual four concerts. The junior membership fee for those under 18 years of age was fixed at 5s a year, and a reduced charge of 7s 6d was made for instances where two or more members of a family wished to join the society. After tho meeting a short musical programme was 1 given, the items being as follows:—Piano solo, Miss N. McLaren, ( ‘ Country Gardens ” ' (Percy Grainger); baritone solos, Mr R. G. Gilbert, “Myself when Young” (Lehmann) and “The Lute Player” (Allitsen). Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring secretary, Mr R. G. Gilbert, and to Mrs Jordan for the use of her residence for the meeting.
