RESTRICTIONS REMOVAL URGED
(Received Tuesday, 12.15 p.m.) RUGBY, Monday.
A call for a complete removal of ■exchange restrictions and quotas so that international trade could attain increased prosperity was made by Mr W. S. Morrison, Financial Secretary to the British Treasury, in a speech at the League Economic Committee. He said that the British Government would be faced with very strong pressure on the part of certain interests in the United Kingdom to counteract the intensified competition which would result from a. revaluation on the Continent. He suggested the appointment of a committee to undertake the study of the entire problem of raw materials. — (British Wireless).
