CENTRAL SCHOOL

ANNUAL CONCERT. Matters are well in hand for the pupils’ annual concert on Wednesday and Thursday, 7th and Bth October, and parents and friends are assured of an excellent evening’s entertainment. The play, “The Crimson Coconut,” is described as ‘‘ an extravagant piece of nonsense, in which every part is played for all it is worth without any attempt at subtlety/* and this is the spirit in which the children are acting it. Much time has been spent by the parents in preparing the costumes iu both the primers’ “pot-pourri,” and the cantat, “Old Mr Sundown in Fairyland.” The music of this contains some attractive melodies. Dancing, elocutionary and musical items will add to the attractiveness of the programme, and if previous entertainments are any criterion it will be necessary to be in attendance early.
