GEORGE DEFEATS WOODS. AUCKLAND, Monday. Ed Don George, one of the world’s greatest professional wrestlers, made his New Zealand debut to-night, when he defeated Joe Kopaeh Woods by two falls to one. George gained the first fall in the third round with a body press, following a light slam, the pair having previously exchanged forearm jolts. Woods evened in. the fifth round in a similar manner, after having sent his opponent through the ropes with forearm jolts. George ended the contest in the sixth round with a press after felling Woods with forearm jolts and slamming him heavily several times.-—(P.A.)
