Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have Ij}-. ceived the following cable from don, dated 15th September:The auctions opened here to : day with: a. large attendance of Home and Continental buyers. There was good general competition, particularly from the Home trade. As at present arranged, the sales, will close on 25th September. Compared with the closing- rates of last sale, we quote:— Greasy Merino, best, unchanged. Greasy Merino, average, . unchanged. Fine 4breds, 50/56’s, idJjL higher. Extra fine' xbreds, te |d lb. higher, f; "vFine xbreds, 4648’5, 4d to £d lb. higher. Medium xbreds, 44/46’s, 4d to fcLlb, higher. %. Coarse xbreds, 40-44’s, 4d to higher. Low xbreds, 36/40’s, Id to fd lb. higher. Sliped mediums and coarse, par to 5 per cent higher. Sliped ibred lambs) par to 5 per cent higher. Scoured Merinos, good demand, price firm. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have to-day received the following cabled advice from their London house:— Wool sales opened with good general competition, average selection, and a good attendance. As compared with closing rates of last series:— Greasy Merino and scoured Merino, unchanged. , Greasy halfbred, 4d to fd higher. Scoured halfbred, unchanged. Greasy fine xbred, 4d higher. Greasy medium and coaije xbred, fd to Id higher. Scoured xbred and id to Id higher. BRISBANE SALES. BRISBANE, Tuesday. The Brisbane wool sales have opened to a strong market ruling for wellgrown and average wools. Compared with the closing rates of the Sydney sales last week, the market for all grades is very firm. Greasy wool sold to 204 d per lb. and scoured to 30d per lb. PERTH SALES. PERTH, Tuesday. The wool sales have opened and prices are fully firm on the latest levels current in the eastern States.' Japan was not represented at this sale. BRADFORD TOPS. LONDQl^Monday. The Bradford tops marjjß is quiet, but has a. firm tendency against the buyers. Yarns are quiet.
