The condition of Mr, W. Ure, of Eketahuna, who is at present in the Pahiatua Hospital, is reported to be serious.

The death occurred at Te Ore Ore last night of Mr Sam Himona, a wellknown native of this, district, after an illness extending over three years. The deceased was 32 years of age. The funeral will take place at the Te Ore Ore Cemetery at 2 p.m. to-morrow, Thursday.

Mr Duncan McGregor, who had been appointed to represent the South Wairarapa County Council on the Wairarapa Hospital Board, was welcomed to the board this morning. Mr McGregor was' appointed to the vacancy created by the death of Mr W. Fisher, for many years chairman of the Board.

The matron reported at to-day’s meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board that the Nurses and Midwives ’ Registration Board has asked Sister M. Paterson if she will act as examiner for the Department for the examinations of pupil nurses to be held in June and December each year. The Board agreed that Miss Paterson be allowed to act as examiner.
