UNSOLVED MURDER
WAIHOU VALLEY MYSTERY.
POLICE STILL ACTIVE,
WHANGAREI, Tuesday,
Although the staff has been reduced, the police have by no means relaxed their efforts to solve the mystery surrounding the death of Ernest Deverin Nelson, who was found murdered on a Waihou Valley property. From a few hours after the discovery of the crime on the evening of 9th June, the police have been continually on the trail, and their enquiries, which have covered a wide area, have been most exhaustive. Apparently the reward of £250 offered by the Justice Department for information leading to the apprehension of the murderer has not borne fruit.
Detective Sergeant Walsh, Detective. A. Naldcr and acting-Detective Appelin, together with three constables, will continue to make their headquarters at Rangiahua Valley. —(P.A.)
